Gulaboff Davis was recently named a winner of the Rochester, NY-based FIVE BY FIVE ensemble’s call for scores. His new commission for the ensemble will premiere in 2023.
Aurora Premiered at UAH

ReNew Music Features Whirlwind
Reno, Nevada-based ReNew Music recently featured Gulaboff Davis’ violin miniature, Whirlwind. Performed by Lucie Zalesakova, this work was selected as one of the winners of their inaugural composition competition.
Crash Named FNMC 2020 Winner
Gulaboff Davis’ work for flute and piano was named winner of the 2020 Flute New Music Consortium Composition Competition. Sponsored by the Flute Center of New York, Crash takes its place as the required repertoire for FNMC’s 2020 international competition, flute and piano division.
Civitasolis Reed Quintet records Frolic
The Florida-based Civitasolis Reed Quintet recently selected and recorded Frolic — the final of three, independently-programmable movements from Zach’s wind quintet Divergence — to kick off their summer 2020 Reed Quintet Miniatures Performance Project.
Kalliope Reed Quintet Premieres Divergence
In collaboration with the Regent Theatre and 350 Massachusetts, the Boston-based Kalliope Reed Quintet recently presented a series of Boston-area virtual concerts featuring Gulaboff Davis’ three-movement set of character pieces. You can find a perusal score here.
HSO Features The Stillness of Night
The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra recently featured Gulaboff Davis’ nocturne with pianist Ka Man Melody Ng. Originally composed for pianist Lisa Spector, Stillness is the first of two works in Zach’s 2020 set Two Nocturnes for Piano.
Colorado Piano Trio in Concert
The Colorado Piano Trio recently performed and recorded Gulaboff Davis’ Piano Trio No. 1 and Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time at the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley. Previously, the ensemble toured Gulaboff Davis’ work throughout the United States, including an appearance at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in 2018.

Borisevich Duo in Concert
The internationally-acclaimed Borisevich Duo recently performed and recorded Gulaboff Davis’ Violin Sonata No. 1 at the Spencerville Evensong Concert Series. Commissioned in 2018, they have toured the sonata extensively across the United States as part of their standard program. The duo’s first CD, featuring the work, is currently in production.
